Our old rug was just plain nasty! No matter what I did it would not get clean. The kids would have black socks and the baby would have black knees and feet from crawling. We got lucky and knew someone getting a new rug and their old one was still in great shape (oh to have money to change things like that just because....) they offered it to us and we just couldn't say no.
